Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic and the Mavericks started off the year slow like the Denver Nuggets, but they have turned things around as of late, winning 20 of their last 28 games. Currently, the Mavericks have won five straight games and have begun to figure out their identity as a team.
Dallas begun to look better and better defensively and with Doncic playing like a true MVP candidate, this Mavericks team definitely has a shot to be a 7-seed or 8-seed that nobody will want to play. At full strength, the Mavericks have a team that can wear teams down defensively, but the thing is that this team has had a hard time remaining healthy.

Kristaps Porzingis has missed a handful of games, as have both Josh Richardson, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Maxi Kleber. Having everybody healthy and on the court will be essential over the next few weeks for the Mavericks, especially given that they are holding onto the 7-seed in the Western Conference by a couple of games.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will really get to see what this Dallas Mavericks team is made of, as they are scheduled to play the Bucks, 76ers, Knicks and the Lakers twice this month. How they play in these games will definitely shed some light onto if this team has what it takes to make some noise come playoff time.
