Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies missed the playoffs last season after failing to beat the Portland Trail Blazers in the play-in game, but they find themselves right on the cusp of making the playoffs again. Led by last season’s Rookie of the Year, Ja Morant, the Grizzlies are currently 25-23 and a game up on the Spurs for the 8-seed in the Western Conference.

Not only do the Grizzlies share the basketball really well, as they rank 4th in the league in assists per game, but they have numerous guys who can score the basketball at any given moment in a game. Memphis currently has seven players averaging double-figure scoring and rookie Desmond Bane is on the cusp of achieving this, as he is currently averaging 9.6 points per game.

Whether it is Ja Morant, Dillon Brooks, Jonas Valanciunus or a guy like Grayson Allen, the Grizzlies have talent up-and-down their roster. Not to mention, Jaren Jackson Jr. will soon be ready to return from his meniscus injury he suffered down in the NBA Bubble last season.

With JJJ soon to return to action, the Grizzlies have turned it on as of late, winning seven of their last ten games and finding themselves on a current three game win streak. Defensively, the Grizzlies rank 7th in the league in defensive rating and have been one of the better defense-to-offense teams in the league because of their ability to push the ball in transition.

As long as this team stays healthy, they have a strong chance to make the playoffs this season and they will not be a pushover either. Memphis has beaten the likes of the 76ers, Heat, Clippers, Nets and Suns this season, making them a formidable opponent for any team that plays them.
