Charlotte Hornets Receive: Mo Bamba

Orlando Magic Receive: 2021 1st Round Pick, 2021 2nd Round Pick (via LAC), 2021 2nd Round Pick (via BKN)

Mo Bamba came out of college as one of the most intriguing players in the NBA Draft. His career is off to a slow start and this will work in favor of the Hornets. The Magic know that they will not get much in the trade market but they have shown their goal to sell and start from the bottom up.

Bamba is serving no purpose at the moment and anything is better than nothing at this point. He still has potential but if the team is going to be set on Wendell Carter Jr. as the long-term answer at the center position, the better option would be to still move on from Bamba via trade.

Orlando would be able to land some draft capital. This would come in the form of a first-round pick in this year’s draft and two second-rounders. All picks would take place this year. These could be valuable in many ways for a rebuilding team moving forward.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this deal would help both sides right away in the offseason.
