How Would Kristaps Porzingis Fit With The Warriors?
Let’s take a look at the potential fit for Porzingis with Golden State to start. To say that it would be a good fit would be a massive understatement.
We talked to an NBA scout about how Porzingis would fit with the Warriors and here is what he had to say:
“With Draymond’s playmaking, having a stretch-five like Porzingis with extended range would bring the best out of the Warriors’ offense. Assuming Thompson gets healthy, Golden State would have an overwhelming amount of shooting.”
Should the Warriors find a way to pull a trade for Porzingis off, they would be a legitimate rival to the Los Angeles Lakers and the rest of the NBA’s elite. Curry and Thompson, when healthy, are still one of the best and most lethal back-courts in the league. Adding in a legitimate superstar in the front-court would take pressure off of them and give balance to the offense.
Like the scout said, the Warriors thrive on perimeter shooting. Porzingis isn’t an “elite’ shooter, but he is as good as it gets in the front-court.
Let’s take a closer look at why a trade between the two sides could make sense for both the Warriors and Mavericks.
