Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: F Marcus Morris Sr.

Los Angeles Clippers Receive: G Jarrett Culver, F Juancho Hernangomez, MIN 2025 2nd Round Pick

The only reason the Clippers would likely look to trade Marcus Morris Sr. in the offseason is if things go wrong again and they look to dump some salary off their books in order to bring in another big name to pair with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

While they love the production Morris gives them and recently just signed him to a long-term deal, he would have to be the first player to be moved if the Clippers were looking to bring in another big contract because he is owed so much money over the next few seasons.

Minnesota may not only be willing to take on Morris’ contract, but they could definitely utilize him. At full strength, the Minnesota Timberwolves have an impressive lineup with D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, Malik Bealsey and Karl-Anthony Towns, but they need to be healthy first off and they need to be able to develop a playing relationship with each other.

Injuries have really hurt the Timberwolves over the years and as a result, their core group of players have barely played on the court with one another. If D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns can stay healthy and the T-Wolves continue to add young talents to this roster, they could easily turn things around in a hurry, which is why the addition of Marcus Morris Sr. for extra frontcourt depth and shooting could make a ton of sense.

With the emergence of both Anthony Edwards and Malik Beasley, as well as guys like Ricky Rubio, Josh Okogie and Jaylen Nowell getting more playing time in the backcourt and on the wing, the T-Wolves do not necessarily have room for Jarrett Culver anymore, which is why they could be willing to include him in this deal for Morris.

There is definitely a solid amount of value on both ends of this trade, so let’s take a closer look at both teams involved in this deal and how this trade could positively impact the futures of both the Clippers and the Timberwolves.
