Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The Washington Wizards
This is a good trade for the Washington Wizards because they are able to get some great return value for one of their most expensive players. The Wizards want to be competitive long beyond 2022, and making a trade like this is a good way to do that.
It has become abundantly clear that Washington is not going to be able to build a winner around Bradley Beal. The Wizards’ defense is just too terrible and there isn’t nearly enough perimeter shooting to get the job done. That doesn’t appear set to change any time soon.
Adding a young star in Darius Garland along with some valuable experience in Larry Nance Jr. and Taurean Prince would give the Wizards a great anchor while they proceed to rebuild their roster.

The Wizards are rebuilding this offseason, that much is for sure, and making a deal with Cleveland could be the best way to stash some players and draft picks at the same time. This is the type of trade that would set the Wizards up for long-term success down the road.
