Marco Belinelli – Shooting Guard
Last season, Marco Belinelli was a really reliable bench player for the San Antonio Spurs and he has played this role over the course of his career. Since 2016, Belinelli has averaged 11.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and has shot 37.1% from the three-point line off-the-bench, yet no team signed him in free agency this past offseason.
Marco Belinelli is currently playing for Virtus Bologna in the Lega Basket Serie A in his home country of Italy, but could make a comeback to the NBA should a team show interest in him for the end of the season.
The biggest strength of Marco Belinelli’s game is his ability to knockdown three-point shots in volume and with that being the name of the game today, it is very surprising to see Bellinelli be a free agent/playing overseas.
Over the course of his NBA career, Marco Belinelli has played with plenty of playoff-contending teams, winning a championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. He may not be able to contribute much and may not be more than a 10-15 minute type of bench player, but the threat of him knocking down three-point shots still exists and who knows, maybe the one shot he makes ends up being the difference in a playoff game.
