How Would Kawhi Leonard And The Heat Fit Together?

Taking a look at how Leonard would fit with the Heat, it looks perfect on the outside looking in. Pat Riley was able to bring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh into the “Heat culture” and it worked beautifully. Miami always looks to bring superstars in who are willing to sacrifice to win together.

Should they pursue a deal with Kawhi, the fit would be similar to the original “Big Three” in South Beach. An NBA scout chimed in about the potential fit between Leonard and the Heat.

“It would be absolutely seamless if it happened. Kawhi Leonard is not a selfish basketball player and he wants to win more than anything else. He would slide in and be a perfect fit with Jimmy Butler and Bam (Adebayo). His defensive ability would make it nearly impossible to score against Miami.”

Leonard, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo would all be willing to work together. If they could retain Duncan Robinson in free agency as well, they would have a perfect supporting cast around the trio of stars. Robinson and Tyler Herro would be complimentary pieces who could take some pressure off of the main stars.

If there is one thing that no one can question about Leonard, it would be his willingness to sacrifice to win. Everywhere he has gone, he has been a team player. Even in his lone season with the Toronto Raptors that saw the team win the NBA Finals, he was the main superstar but made his teammates better around him.

Let’s take a closer look at what the Heat could accomplish with Kawhi Leonard in town and why the superstar forward should listen closely to Miami in the offseason.
