Why This Trade Would Benefit The Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls went against all the NBA trade rumors out there. Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen survived the NBA trade deadline and it was never in doubt. There were not many serious rumors out there involving either star. The aggressiveness the front office has shown is refreshing and something fans should be on board with. If they want to continue, Malcolm Brogdon is a name to keep an eye on in the offseason.

Brogdon would help to strengthen the Bulls’ defense while providing the half-court offense with a highly effective off-the-catch type of offensive threat. He has shouldered a much greater offensive load during his time with the Pacers and can be a secondary perimeter initiator alongside Zach LaVine, too.

This is a win-now move but the Bulls are not in that position just yet. This move could take them to that level. Chicago knows they have two stars in LaVine and Markkanen. This led them to adding Vucevic, who has fit in well through three games with 22 points a night.

He is a big that can solidify the frontcourt and Brogdon is that guard. Along with LaVine, Brogdon would give the Bulls a new dynamic at the point guard position. He can score at all three levels and is a strong defender. The Bulls brought in Billy Donovan to be the new head coach and this showed the franchise is interested in winning soon.

Bringing in a proven point guard would solidify that notion. Chicago is a city that is used to winning but they have not been there in recent years. It will be interesting to see if the front office takes that next step in the offseason and stays aggressive.
