This Bulls-Pacers offseason trade is centered on Malcolm Brogdon

Chicago Bulls Receive: Malcolm Brogdon, Jeremy Lamb

Indiana Pacers Receive: Coby White, Patrick Williams, Thaddeus Young, 2022 1st Round Pick

Malcolm Brogdon was thought to be one of the centerpiece players for the Pacers moving forward but no one, other than maybe Domantas Sabonis, is safe from a trade. For an underachieving team in a small market, it’s difficult for Indiana to shoulder an over-the-cap payroll for a team that is essentially competing just to have a chance in the play-in.

Brogdon will finish out the season but could be use as one of their biggest trade pieces given his production. He is averaging 21.2 points per game this season to lead Indiana. Brogdon, along with Jeremy Lamb, would be on the way to the Bulls in this deal.

The Pacers would get a large return for their point guard and it begins with Coby White. This would be a replacement at the top of the offense and one with a high ceiling.

White is scoring 15 points per game to go along with 4.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per night. Patrick Williams, first-round pick of the Bulls this year, and another first-rounder in 2022 would also go to Indiana. Adding two younger pieces would help the Pacers to build a long-term oriented core.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this deal would help both sides right away in the offseason.
