Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets would be extremely happy to land DeMar DeRozan in NBA free agency. This is a franchise-changing move for a team that has not been able to put it together recently. The Hornets have been aggressive recently and it could continue with a move here. DeRozan would fit into the backcourt well with dynamic guards and Gordon Hayward.
Charlotte added LaMelo Ball in the draft because he was the best player available and perhaps the best prospect in the draft. Hayward was a free-agent signing and this proved the front office is not afraid to make that big move. DeRozan would completely solidify the backcourt.
We have seen some guards for the Hornets be thrown around in trade rumors. They are deep at the position and DeMar DeRozan could give them that presence in the midrange. This would allow the Hornets to make some other moves, including potentially moving Terry Rozier or Devonte’ Graham.

This is a move that would continue to send Charlotte in the right direction. They have some money to spend and if they spend it wisely, could become contenders in the Eastern Conference.
