Phoenix Suns

After going 8-0 in the NBA Bubble last season and coming up short of making the playoffs, the Phoenix Suns extended their 9-year playoff drought to 10-years, but this season, that streak seems like it is finally going to end. The Suns front-office has turned this team not just into a playoff contender, but a true championship contender this season in large part because of the addition of future Hall-of-Fame point guard Chris Paul.

While he may not have the flashiest stats or lead the league in scoring, rebounding or assists, Chris Paul definitely should be in the conversation for MVP this season because of the impact he has had on this Phoenix Suns organization.

This season, Paul is averaging 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.4 steals and is shooting 49% from the floor, 36.3% from three-point range. He is the leader of this Suns team and because of all the little things he does to help this team win, the Suns currently find themselves just a few games back from the Utah Jazz for the best record in the NBA.

Head coach Monty Williams deserves a lot of credit as well for the job he has done with this Suns team, but up and down this roster, they have a lot of talent. They have 6 players averaging double-digit scoring numbers and can play 10-11 players deep at times!

The Suns are one of the deepest teams in the league and are one of three teams, the Bucks and Jazz being the others, to rank inside the Top-10 in the league in both offensive and defensive rating and efficiency.

While they currently find themselves as the 2-seed in the Western Conference, all the talk in the West is about the Jazz, Lakers and Clippers. Nobody seems to want to talk about the Phoenix Suns, which is going to add more fuel to their fire to make a deep postseason run.

Do not be surprised if Chris Paul and Devin Booker take the Phoenix Suns to the Western Conference Finals this season and possibly to the NBA Finals because this team is talented, hungry and often times looked over by other teams around the league, which is exactly why they have a real chance to win a championship this year.
