Why This Trade Would Benefit The Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings have not been relevant in the Western Conference for quite sometime now. It is difficult to rebuild in the NBA and the Kings are proving that. Buddy Hield is under contract and is owed a lot of money. This is a chance for Sacramento to send that away and clear some more space for the future.

This will allow the team to continue to build around De’Aaron Fox. He is a franchise player and one that has shown his ability to lead a team. Kuzma and Caldwell-Pope are cheaper options. Caldwell-Pope is a short-term player while Kuzma has two years left on his deal.

Buddy Hield has been inconsistent throughout his career but is still young enough to build around with De’Aaron Fox. Sacramento has plenty of options moving forward and will have to make the right moves if they want to get back to relevance.

The future for the Kings is De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton in the backcourt. Both players thrive alongside each other and Haliburton is signed to a rookie contract. Clearing up cap space by trading Hield would help the Kings to re-sign Richaun Holmes and not limiting them to keeping a supporting cast that failed to make the playoffs in the Western Conference.

The Kings have a chance to send away a big contract of a player who was allegedly unhappy in the offseason. There will be plenty of teams interested if he is on the market and the Kings will have to pick the deal that works best for them.
