Why This Trade Would Benefit The Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers have been competing in the Western Conference for years now but have not taken that step towards the NBA Finals. Their dynamic duo has been together for awhile now with no changes. This means a change could be on the horizon. Damian Lillard is the clear-cut franchise-player, which means CJ McCollum could be the player moved. He has been in rumors for sometime now but has not been moved just yet.

The return would be large for the Trail Blazers. This would not put them back much. Harris is showing that he is a valuable asset while Tyrese Maxey is proving that he is going to be around for awhile. Along with the draft capital, the return is solid all around.

CJ McCollum is a proven commodity but Tobias Harris is also taking that step. He had a down year last season but is beginning to earn his money. This would allow Damian Lillard to dominate the ball even more and completely build around him.

The franchise is competitive but needs to take that step towards a championship. The front office has plenty of options and could look to make a blockbuster deal come the offseason.

Portland will be focused on the finish of the season and the playoffs. Once the season is complete, all eyes will be on what the front office wants to do with the roster. It will be interesting to see if they make a splash with one of their best players.
