This Hawks-Wizards offseason trade is centered on Bradley Beal

The Atlanta Hawks are one of the teams in the Eastern Conference fighting for a lower seed in the NBA postseason. This was the hope coming into the season and it is coming true for a franchise that has not seen much success over the years. As for the Washington Wizards, they continue to be near the bottom of the standings. This means they could finally decide to fully sell in the offseason.

Washington took a big step towards selling when they sent John Wall to the Houston Rockets. This broke up the long-time duo of Wall and Bradley Beal. It also created a new one with Russell Westbrook as he was the return from Houston. This has not translated into success as the Wizards are 12th in the East at 17-29.

Bradley Beal has shown a loyalty to the Wizards’ organization by not requesting a trade and shutting down NBA trade rumors leading up to the NBA trade deadline. This is something that we could see in the offseason given the current direction of the franchise and their need to rebuild from the group up.

This is a chance for the Hawks to solidify their backcourt along with Trae Young. He is leading the team averaging 25.4 points per contest and shooting 35.9% from three-point territory. The Hawks were busy in the offseason in hopes of competing this season but their free-agent signings have not contributed much.

Atlanta added Danilo Gallinari, Rajon Rondo, and Bogdan Bogdanovic in free agency. Rondo is now with the Los Angeles Clippers and the others can be moved at anytime. It is certainly worth it for a player like Beal.

This move would definitely continue to point the Hawks in the right direction. Here is what a potential deal might look like between the two sides in the offseason.
