Why This Trade Would Benefit The Chicago Bulls

It was interesting to see the Bulls decide to buy at the deadline. They feel like they are right in the race in the Eastern Conference, and when looking at the team it is hard to deny. They made some big moves and this included trading both Carter Jr. and Porter Jr. White has been viewed as a piece for the future but this does not mean he is safe moving forward.

The Bulls have shown that they are not afraid to trade some younger players. If they are going to build around LaVine and Markannen, it must be done right. Adding Vucevic was an incredible first step. Chicago is setup well for a run in the second half of the season.

If they do not make the playoffs, the offseason will begin quicker and we can see some more big moves made. This includes sending White to Oklahoma City. The return would be two players averaging around 15 points per night combined.

Theo Maledon has made some starts for the Thunder this season. Both he and Kenrich Williams could be valuable bench pieces for the Bulls in the supporting cast alongside Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.

The front office is clearly not happy with recent years. This is a franchise that is used to competing and they could be moving toward that once again if they make the right moves. Coby White isn’t viewed as a long-term answer at point guard and finding value for him in the NBA offseason could make the most sense.
