Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: Coby White

Chicago Bulls Receive: Theo Maledon, Kenrich Williams, 2021 1st Round Pick (via GSW), 2021 2nd Round Pick (via DEN)

The Chicago Bulls were aggressive at the NBA trade deadline and that could continue in the offseason. It would be interesting to see them part ways with White but that means they must have belief in other areas of the team. White is a good-looking prospect that would certainly land Chicago a bit of a return.

It begins with Theo Maledon and Kenrich Williams. The Bulls would also get some draft capital, including a first-rounder in this year’s draft from the Golden State Warriors. This wouldn’t be a blockbuster haul for Coby White from the Bulls’ perspective, but they are each helpful pieces.

The Bulls have shown that they will not be selling their stars so they could look to go in another direction in trades. There has been concern within the Bulls’ front office regarding whether or not Coby White is the right style of point guard for the team to build around long-term. If they are sold that he doesn’t fit the mold, then gaining value for him this offseason would help.

The Thunder have far too many draft picks over the next few years more than they know what to do with and at some point, consolidating some of those will be important. Adding a piece like Coby White who is still on a rookie contract and has untapped potential could be an intriguing possibility.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA offseason trade scenario centered around Coby White would benefit both the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder.
