Toronto Raptors

Ever since they let Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol leave in free agency, the Toronto Raptors have been left with a void at the center position. At the NBA trade deadline, they were expected to maybe add another frontcourt talent to their roster to aid them in their playoff push but instead, they almost traded Kyle Lowry and they did trade Norman Powell for Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood.

Now, the Raptors still have a frontcourt issue and they do not have a reliable center moving forward. Masai Ujiri is one of the best executives in the entire league and he is going to make all the right moves to set the Raptors up for a lot of future success, but right now, things are looking a little grim for this franchise.

After winning their first championship in franchise history in 2019, defeating the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, the Raptors looked like a team that could be contending for championships for a while, but not many players from that championship team are on the roster anymore and Kyle Lowry is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

This roster could see some major changes this offseason, but Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby are tied down long-term to this franchise and are the core moving forward. They should be looking for ways to add more high-level, young talent, which is why they could potentially invest in Mo Bamba at a low price.

Bamba could immediately have an opportunity to prove himself in the frontcourt with Chris Boucher and with two lengthy, impactful young talents in the frontcourt, the Raptors could potentially build something special due to all of their length and size.

This is definitely a smart move for the Raptors to make, the only question is what would they have to give up and what do they have to give up. Outside of Boucher and Malachi Flynn, they do not really have any intriguing young talents, so they may have to give up a first-round pick if they are to get Bamba from the Magic.
