Use remaining trade exception and extra cap space to trade for another All-Star player
After making some deals at the trade deadline, the Celtics have used most of their $28.5M trade exception that was created when they traded Gordon Hayward to the Hornets in a sign-and-trade, but they still have about $11M left from this trade exception, as well as a $5M trade exception they created when they traded Daniel Theis.
Boston has the capability to absorb some contracts with these exceptions, should they be willing to pay the taxes, which means they could acquire a couple of high-level talents and role players to surround Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown with. If they are to trade Walker though and free up some cap space, they could then use these trade exceptions to possibly bring in another All-Star talent to pair with Jayson Tatum and Brown.
Over the years, several high-level and All-Star caliber talents in Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward and now possibly Kemba Walker have all come and gone and the one thing they all share in common is that they did not win a championship with the Celtics.

This narrative is starting to get old as it seems like every year, this is the same Celtics team, but just in a different season. It is championship or bust for the Celtics and right now, they are going to continue being a bust until they can figure out their frontcourt situation and their bench.
Using these trade exceptions they have to bring in more talent and round out their roster will be extremely important and something they must use in the offseason to try and add more talent. This team has the starting unit to contend for a championship, but they are going to need to add more talent to their second-unit and their bench if they are to compete with the likes of the Nets, Bucks and 76ers in the East.
