Let’s have some fun with this one. What a move it would be if Kawhi Leonard opted out of his deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and decided to go across town. This would take rivalry to another level. Leonard has an opt out after the year and he has mentioned that it would be a smart business decision to test his value. The Lakers have been in on Leonard before and could be again.

The Lakers have played around with the idea of adding Kawhi Leonard in NBA free agency. He ultimately decided to join the Clippers and helped them persuade Paul George. A big three of Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis would be one that could give the Brooklyn Nets’ big three a run.

The Lakers have expressed interest in adding another star player. They were linked to Victor Oladipo at the NBA trade deadline and ended up signing Andre Drummond after a buyout. The Lakers will continue to be championship contenders and Kawhi Leonard would take that to the next level.
