New York Knicks
Knicks Receive: G/F Terrance Ferguson (Waived), C Vincent Poirier (Waived), Emir Preldzic (Rights To), MIA 2024 2nd Round Pick (Protected)
Many believed that New York would potentially make a big move at the trade deadline, whether it was to add Andre Drummond or Victor Oladipo, but the Knicks held off on making any significant changes and only traded away Austin Rivers and Ignas Brazdeikis for Terrance Ferguson and a future second-round pick.
After being traded to the 76ers in the offseason, in the deal that sent Danny Green to Philadelphia, the young wing has virtually not played at all with the Sixers and was just an end-of-the-bench type of guy. He only played in 13 games this season with the 76ers and it was mainly just appearances late in games.
While he has not played much this season, Terrance Ferguson averaged 20.7 minutes per game with the Thunder from 2017-20 and was solid in his role. During that time span, he averaged 4.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and shot 40.6% from the floor. However, he was already waived.

The Knicks bought out Austin Rivers after they did not trade him at the NBA trade deadline and Brazdeikis did not have a role with this team since the day they drafted him, so why not flip those two for a young wing with a solid amount of potential to maybe grow into a really solid role player that can contribute off-the-bench?
The best thing the Knicks could have done at the NBA trade deadline was nothing at all and they achieved this. This franchise has a chance to make the playoffs for the first time since 2013 and not screwing things up roster wise was the best move they made.
