Miami Heat Receive: G Victor Oladipo
Going out and trading for Victor Oladipo instead of Kyle Lowry worked perfectly for the Miami Heat, especially since they gave up basically nothing to get him. Kelly Olynyk has been a solid frontcourt player for the Heat this season and Avery Bradley is an impactful veteran player when he is healthy, but neither player carries as much value as a healthy Victor Oladipo.
With Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler and Victor Oladipo, the Miami Heat now have three legit scoring options, as well as key role players next to these three All-Star players. Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn are all key secondary scoring options next to the Heat’s “Big 3” now and with key veterans in Iguodala and Ariza as well, there is no reason why the Heat can’t contend in the East to make back-to-back NBA Finals appearances.
This trade was a major win by the Miami Heat and their front-office, as getting a player like Victor Oladipo for two role players and a pick swap does not happen too often. This was a bargain price for a former All-Star player and a key piece to the Heat’s potential championship puzzle.

The biggest win of the day for the Miami Heat though was keeping both Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson. They were reportedly offering Robinson in a potential deal for Kyle Lowry with the Toronto Raptors and in trade talks with the Rockets over the weeks, Houston had been clear on wanting Tyler Herro.
With the Heat keeping both of these guys and adding a two-way star in Victor Oladipo, they are set up for a lot of success for the remainder of the season and have enough firepower to potentially contend in the East once again. This trade was an absolute steal for the Heat as they got everything they wanted for nothing.
