The Golden State Warriors have been relatively quiet so far ahead of the NBA trade deadline, but they are starting to look into some moves. One player to keep a close eye on could be Philadelphia 76ers veteran shooting guard Danny Green.
According to a report from Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Warriors are showing trade interest in Green with the deadline just a couple of hours away.
Green would certainly be a quality addition for the Warriors. This would not be a move to go all-in on this season, but Golden State wants to be more competitive. There is no question the veteran guard could help them.
Throughout his NBA career, Green has been the definition of a “3-and-D” player. He is a lethal spot-up shooter and can play defense at a very high level. Those are both qualities that the Warriors could use.
So far this season with the 76ers, Green has averaged 9.2 points per game to go along with 3.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals. He has shot 40.3 percent from the floor overall and has knocked down 39 percent of his three-point attempts.
Those numbers would look really good in the Warriors’ lineup. Green likely would not cost Golden State very much either.
The NBA has been crazy over the last few hours. Nine trades have already been made with still two hours to go until the deadline. If the Warriors want to get involved, they will need to do so soon and Danny Green is a perfect target.
Expect to hear more rumors in the near future. The Warriors may not end up swinging any trades, but this is one to keep an eye on with the 76ers.
