This trade could make a lot of sense for both teams involved. The Heat are looking for some veteran depth at the guard positions while the Pistons are more prepared to establish some pieces for the long haul.

In this trade, the Pistons would get a nice young player to develop while they rebuild and it would also allow them to dump the contract of an aging veteran. The Heat, on the other hand, are looking to add a veteran wing presence and Wayne Ellington could be a solid option.
