Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The Charlotte Hornets
This is a logical trade for the Charlotte Hornets because it gives them some much needed star power alongside Gordon Hayward. The Hornets are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, but losing Rookie point guard LaMelo Ball is sure to have a major impact on the team moving forward.
While losing LaMelo Ball is a tough blow to the Charlotte starting five, adding Domantas Sabonis to the squad helps them significantly. This would also be a long-term oriented move that would add an All-Star caliber talent to the mix going forward.
The Hornets have been longing for a reliable big man to take over the starting center role and they could have their guy in Domantas Sabonis. He would add an intriguing playmaking element into the mix and also provide a dynamic paint presence.

Sabonis, this season, is averaging 20.2 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists for the Pacers and he is single handedly the reason the Pacers are within shouting distance of the playoffs. Landing Sabonis will certainly shorten Charlotte’s depth, but it will be worth it down the stretch.
