Why This Trade Would Benefit The Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been dealing with rumors for Towns since the offseason. He was allegedly unhappy with the current situation and wanted to be moved but nothing has happened to us yet. The Timberwolves have put players around him in hopes of keeping them happy but Minnesota has yet to compete during the regular season.
In Towns’ absence, both D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley stepped up. Anthony Edwards is looking like a Rookie of the Year candidate but the team struggles in the frontcourt. This was assumed to be a priority at the deadline but they could go in a different direction.
Barnes is a personal three guard that can do many things on the floor. He has been part of winning cultures in the past and could take over in a leadership role on and off the floor for Minnesota.

This is something that the Timberwolves will have to have moving forward. This is a team that has made the postseason just one since drafting Towns first overall in 2015.
The Timberwolves are certainly not close to the playoffs where they stand today. The front office has their work cut out for them and knows that they will have to make money moves in the future.
