Aaron Gordon – Orlando Magic
Now in his 7th season in the NBA, Aaron Gordon has always been a very athletic big man, but the questions around his future in Orlando have been swirling since this past offseason. Over the last few days leading up to the trade deadline, Gordon has requested a trade from the Magic and the Timberwolves have been one of several teams linked to the versatile forward.
While Minnesota was pushing for an Aaron Gordon trade hard last week, ultimately not striking a deal, the Celtics, Rockets and Nuggets are all also in pursuit of the former #4 overall pick and will be fighting with Minnesota for him up until the trade deadline.
Originally, it was reported that the Magic were interested in Ricky Rubio and some draft picks, but with other teams possibly offering more, this deal could be off the books for the Timberwolves. However, this will not stop them from trying to acquire Aaron Gordon as Minnesota sees him as being the last piece they need to turn things around.
There is no denying that Aaron Gordon is a great player and with the Timberwolves, he could actually be the last piece they need to finally be successful. Fully healthy with the addition of Gordon, the Timberwolves would have D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Anthony Edwards, Aaron Gordon and Karl-Anthony Towns in their starting rotation, giving them plenty of weapons to utilize and plenty of firepower to work with.
