3 last-minute trade targets for Grizzlies before the deadline

The Memphis Grizzlies are in a great position as a franchise right now and when Jaren Jackson Jr. returns from his knee injury he suffered in the NBA Bubble, the Grizzlies could very much play their way into the playoff picture in the Western Conference.

Led by second-year point guard Ja Morant, the Grizzlies are currently 20-20 and 1.5 GB from the 8-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the West. There is a lot of basketball yet to be played and plenty of teams are still in the running to potentially make the playoffs out west, but you definitely have to like Memphis’ chances.

While Ja Morant is their leader and arguably their best player, the best part about the Grizzlies is how well they spread the ball and the amount of scorers they have. No player on their roster is really talked about a lot, but they have a bunch of solid rotational guys, allowing this team to play 9-10 guys deep on some nights, making them one of the deepest teams in the league.

Every player on this roster seems to play with a “chip-on-their-shoulder” and with this team playing together, they could be a sneaky good team in the West. They are not expected to make a significant move at the trade deadline, but there have been rumors that they could potentially look to buyout Gorgui Dieng from his $17.2M contract.

If they are looking to cut ties with Dieng, they could possibly look to move him in a multi-team deal to either free up cap space, or surprisingly make a big move and acquire a big name player at tomorrow’s deadline. With that said, let’s take a look at three last-minute trade targets the Memphis Grizzlies could potentially pursue should they look to make a move before the NBA trade deadline.
