Norman Powell – Toronto Raptors
Norman Powell is the guy not talked about enough on the Raptors and could have a huge impact on the Nuggets if Denver was able to pull off a trade to land him. The 27-year old wing is now in his sixth season in the NBA and after a breakout season last year, a lot of expectations were placed on Powell this year.
With injuries and safety protocols keeping many of the Raptors players sidelined, Powell has stepped up into a much bigger role this year for Toronto and is on track to earn a massive contract/contract-extension should he opt out of his deal after this season. In 41 games this year, Norman Powell is averaging 19.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.1 steals and is shooting 43.4% from three-point range, making him one of the best pure offensive talents on the Raptors.
With Gary Harris’ streaky start to the year and the inconsistency of Denver’s wings, adding a guy like Norman Powell not only furthers their depth, but gives them another reliable contributor who could step up and be this team’s third or fourth scoring option. Ultimately, if this team is going to contend, they are going to need a guy coming off the bench that they feel can make a huge impact for them.

Given his athleticism and scoring abilities, Norman Powell is definitely a guy to keep an eye on if you are a Nuggets fan. Bringing him to Denver could be tough, as they would likely have to trade some draft assets and a key role player, but trading for Powell definitely elevates this Nuggets offense and gives them another weapon, making them harder to guard on the offensive end of the court.
Over the last few days, Powell’s name has come up a lot more in trade talks and most recently, he has been linked to the Brooklyn Nets in a possible trading involving Spencer Dinwiddie. If the Nuggets want the versatile wing from the Raptors, then they will have to act quickly, but they should also be prepared to give up quite a bit of assets for Norman Powell.
