The Denver Nuggets are in an interesting spot as a franchise because they have a legit NBA MVP candidate in Nikola Jokic, a young point guard who has stardom written all over him in Jamal Murray and a young forward in Michael Porter Jr. who has the potential to be one of the best two-way players in the league in a couple of years, but are they good enough to make it back to the Western Conference Finals?
This team is currently 25-17 and have been playing really solid basketball of late, winning 10 of their last 14 games, but the Nuggets are starting to regret their decision of letting Jerami Grant sign with the Pistons in the offseason. The void he has left behind on this roster has yet to be filled and if they had kept Grant, Denver could have been the best team in the league.
Of course, we will never know what the Nuggets could have been and all that talk is hypothetical, but in reality, this team is still one piece away from being a true contender in the Western Conference, even though they were just three wins away from going to the NBA Finals last year.
