3 last-minute trade targets for Lakers before the deadline

Since Anthony Davis has been out with a calf injury, the Los Angeles Lakers have struggled at times offensively and now with LeBron James expected to miss some time with a high ankle sprain, this team could really be in trouble. This year’s NBA trade deadline is at 3pm EST on March 25 and now, with all of their injuries, we can expect the Lakers to be aggressive.

At full strength, this team has what it takes to make it back to the NBA Finals and they will definitely still be one of the top teams in the Western Conference, but without LeBron James and Anthony Davis, this team could begin to slip in the standings out West.

After originally being rumored to be targeting more frontcourt depth in the wake of Anthony Davis being out, the Lakers could possibly shift their focus to adding another impactful role player on the wing to add more offensive production with James being out now.

LeBron James getting hurt was the last thing the Lakers needed right now and will really need to get production from some of their role players in Kyle Kuzma, Talen Horton-Tucker and Alex Caruso if they are to remain competitive with both of their All-Stars out.

Overall, when you look at this Lakers’ team, they rely so much on their star players and do not have as much overall depth in terms of production as they had last year when they won the championship. They have better players with the additions of Montrezl Harrell and Dennis Schroder and both players have been really solid this year, but given this team’s lack of offensive production, it seems like they are one piece away from being that dominant force they were a season ago.

With that said, let’s take a look at three last-minute trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers to consider with the NBA trade deadline just days away!
