Evan Fournier – Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic have really struggled this season due to various injuries within their organization. As a result, this season is close to being called a “lost cause” for the Magic and they could wind up being big time “sellers” at the trade deadline.

The Warriors have been linked to Aaron Gordon trade rumors for a while, but his teammate, Evan Fournier, could be the better impact player for Golden State to target. Not only is he a high-level offensive talent, but he is more than capable of giving the Warriors that secondary scoring production they have been missing.

Now in his 9th season in the league, Evan Fournier is averaging 19.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and is shooting 39% from beyond-the-arc.

Evan Fournier is a terrific three-point shooter and given the Warriors’ perimeter-oriented attack, the veteran wing could join this organization and immediately become one of their best scorers next to Steph Curry. Not to mention, Fournier is in the final year of his contract and the Warriors would not be tied down to him long-term, freeing up some much needed cap space in the offseason.

While they would have to trade either Kelly Oubre Jr. or Andrew Wiggins to make this trade work, Evan Fournier has been a more consistent option than both of them this year and would probably fit in better with the Warriors than Kelly Oubre Jr. has.

If Golden State wants to make a big move at an affordable price, then going after Evan Fournier makes a ton of sense, but the Warriors could turn their attention to going after some smaller priced role players instead.
