Why This Trade Would Benefit The Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets held the third-overall pick in the draft. James Wiseman was taken right before so the Hornets decided to take the best player available. This was Ball. In the offseason, the Hornets were linked to players like Montrezl Harrell because they knew there was a need in the frontcourt. Here is where they can finally land their big.

Turner is one of the more underrated big men in the league. He has been a defensive force for years now but now has improved his offensive game. Turner is averaging 13.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season, along with his defensive prowess.

Turner is shooting 32.1% from three-point range and that is an area of his game that is improving. At the moment, the Hornets are being led by Gordon Hayward on the perimeter, along with many backcourt options. A big man like Turner would certainly space the floor and open opportunities even more.

This is a chance for the Hornets to balance their lineup on both ends of the floor. They are already in the mix in the Eastern Conference and could take their game to the next level if they land a frontcourt piece like Turner.
