One of the “breakout” teams of this year has been the Charlotte Hornets and they currently find themselves very much in the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte has not been to the NBA playoffs since 2016 and are looking to snap a four year losing season skid.
After acquiring Gordon Hayward in free agency and drafting LaMelo Ball 3rd overall this past offseason, there were a lot of questions about how the Hornets would look and they have answered all of these questions by emerging as one of the most fun and entertaining teams to watch this year.
While they are not the best offensive or defensive teams in the league, the Hornets are one of the best perimeter shooting teams in the league and have one of the best backcourts in the league. LaMelo Ball has been having a sensational rookie season and is the clear front-runner for Rookie of the Year, but Terry Rozier is the player on this roster that not a lot of people are talking about.
Rozier is currently averaging 20.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and is shooting 42.7% from three-point range, making him a player who should be in the conversation for Most Improved Player. With the Hornets’ backcourt playing at a high-level and plenty of young, high-level talents on this roster, this team looks like they will snap their playoff drought this year, but may still look to make a big move ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

While the Pistons have made their intentions to keep Jerami Grant long-term clear, plenty of teams have expressed interest in Detroit’s breakout star and the Hornets could be one of those teams interested given their need for more frontcourt/forward help.
Could the Hornets shock the NBA world and pull off a huge trade to acquire Jerami Grant? Let’s take a look at what this hypothetical trade could potentially shape up to look like.
