This Heat-Nets trade is centered on Spencer Dinwiddie

Since trading for James Harden, the Brooklyn Nets have been the most dominant team in the NBA and at times, they have looked virtually impossible to stop offensively. At full strength with Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and James Harden, the Nets have three of the most versatile scorers in the league today and as a result, they are going to be a tough team to beat come playoff time.

Kevin Durant has been sidelined since Feb. 13 due to a hamstring injury, but the Nets are 12-1 since Durant got injured and are still nearly averaging 120 points per game! The amount of production this team has offensively is unheard of and they are putting up historic numbers.

While they have Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden, the Nets’ role players have really helped shape this team into what it is. Joe Harris, DeAndre Jordan, Jeff Green and Bruce Brown have all played fantastic in their secondary roles this season and are a big part of why Brooklyn has had so much success to this point in the season.

This team has the makings of a championship caliber team already, but they could look to make one more move to solidify themselves as the team to beat. Spencer Dinwiddie went down earlier in the year with a torn ACL and will not be back for Brooklyn this year, making him and his $11.4M contract for this season expendable.

Dinwiddie is a terrific player, but with Brooklyn going “all-in” on winning a championship this year, he is almost dead weight on their roster and his contract could be leveraged for someone who can come in and help make a difference for this team’s chances of winning it all. A couple of teams have reached out to the Nets in regards to Spencer Dinwiddie the last few days, the Miami Heat being one of those teams. This will be something to watch in NBA trade rumors.

Will the Heat look to make a move for Spencer Dinwiddie ahead of the trade deadline even though he will not return to the court until next season? Let’s take a look at what kind of value Dinwiddie could bring to the Nets.
