Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The OKC Thunder
The OKC Thunder have a ton of assets built up. Presti has a plethora of draft capital over the next half decade and some young talent, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. This is a chance for the Thunder to add even more and dump a contract.
The Thunder are not a win-now team. The contract of Al Horford does not benefit them in anyway. This would be the main goal of the trade. In return, they could get a player like DiVincenzo, who is averaging 10.3 points per night and has started all 39 games.
This would be a hard ask from the Bucks but it would be a steal for Oklahoma City, and that is the main benefit. Lopez would take over downlow and do so on a much smaller contract. When looking at this deal, the Thunder would retool right away.
