This Heat-Pistons trade is focused on Jerami Grant

This past offseason, the Detroit Pistons made what is shaping up to be the best free agent signing of the season when they signed Jerami Grant to a three-year, $60M deal. Grant had a really solid season last year with the Denver Nuggets and after some impressive performances in the NBA Bubble, Detroit decided to make him their “star” player.

Everybody knew Jerami Grant was a really solid player, but not many were expecting to see him have the breakout season that he has. Through 36 games, Grant is averaging 23.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and is shooting 35.4% from three-point range. While the Pistons are currently in last-place in the Eastern Conference, this organization has a lot of high-potential, young players and in a couple seasons, they could be a very tough team to play.

Several teams have apparently been interested in pursuing the breakout forward, per recent NBA trade rumors, but the Pistons have remained loyal to Grant and have reportedly made him “unavailable” in trade talks. The Miami Heat however may have something to say about that.

Pat Riley and the Heat front-office are always looking for ways to make their organization a championship contender and with them having a few valuable draft picks and a ton of young talent they can leverage, Miami could put together quite the lucrative offer for Jerami Grant.

With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo playing at a high-level, it seems like the Heat are one piece away from having yet another chance to win a title and with Jerami Grant having a breakout season, he could be the guy they need to make it back to the NBA Finals.

So what could the Heat possibly offer up to convince the Pistons to trade their star-player? Let’s take a look at a potential trade scenario that would send Jerami Grant to South Beach.
