Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans celebrated when they drafted Zion Williamson and knew that they had the next big thing in the league to pair with Ingram. It has been a long road since the franchise sent Anthony Davis to Los Angeles but they could speed up the process by adding an elite point guard. Sexton is beginning to take his game to that level.
Sexton is averaging 23.7 points per game while shooting 38.4% from the three-point line. At 22-years old, Sexton is developing at a quick pace and fits in with what the Pelicans are trying to build. This is a reason the team traded Holiday and will look for trade partners for Bledsoe and J.J. Redick.
New Orleans has been trying to get younger and this would accomplish that goal. It would also land them a difference-maker on the floor at the most important position on the floor.
