The Detroit Pistons are going nowhere fast this season. They are in the cellar of the Eastern Conference with a record of 10-28, 7.5 games behind the final play-in spot in the conference. Detroit is looking to make some moves ahead of the trade deadline and Wayne Ellington is available.

Given their performance this season, it is clear the Pistons will be sellers at the trade deadline. They already made one move, sending Svi Mykhailiuk to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Hamidou Diallo. That is unlikely to be the last trade Detroit makes.

While no one has been deemed untouchable on the roster, big free-agent signing Jerami Grant and rookie trio Killian Hayes, Saddiq Bey, and Isaiah Stewart are the closest to being categorized as so.

That leaves plenty of trade options remaining on the roster. Delon Wright and Wayne Ellington are two players that could be on the move before the March 25 deadline. Recently, it was revealed what it would take to nab the sharpshooting Ellington in a deal.

According to the subscription-based, The Athletic, the Pistons are seeking a second-round pick in exchange for the veteran Ellington. Ellington would be a great addition to any contending team given his shooting ability and defensive prowess.

Ellington is having the best shooting season of his career, knocking down 44.6 percent of his shots and 42.2 percent of his three-point attempts. That kind of floor spacing would fit in seamlessly in any lineup as Ellington can be successful and make an impact without needing the ball in his hands.

The former North Carolina Tar Heel is well-traveled, as he has already played for nine teams in his 12-year NBA career. A 10th could very well on the horizon, as contenders should line up for Ellington given how well he has performed thus far this season.

Outside of J.J. Redick, Ellington is arguably the most accomplished three-point shooter that could be acquired ahead of the deadline. The usual suspects when it comes to contending teams looking to upgrade their roster should show interest in Ellington in the coming days.

Expect to see the Pistons trade Wayne Ellington before the trade deadline. Keep an eye on the Los Angeles Lakers in particular.
