Why this trade makes sense for the Indiana Pacers
There is no timetable yet for when T.J. Warren is set to return to the court for the Pacers, which is definitely a concern for them. They have really missed his production on the wing this season and with Caris LeVert recently making his debut, he should be able to aid Indiana a lot with the production they are missing from Warren, but they still need more offensive threats if they are to be a playoff threat this year.
Giving up much needed depth in Jeremy Lamb and Justin Holiday may not be ideal, especially since they are both averaging in double-figures this season, but getting a key secondary scorer in Harrison Barnes could prove to be extremely useful for the Pacers.
Not only does he fit their style of play well, but Harrison Barnes is a veteran wing that knows what it takes to win. Early on in his career, he was a key member of the Golden State Warriors’ championship run in 2015 and could easily be an impactful part of the Pacers’ potential playoff run this year.
At full strength, either Barnes or LeVert could potentially be moved to the bench for Indiana, but nonetheless, they would still have a fantastic starting rotation with a terrific sixth-man coming off the bench for them.
