This Bulls-Wizards trade features Russell Westbrook to Chicago

After starting the NBA season 3-12, the Washington Wizards won 8 of their last 11 games before the All-Star break and are still very much in-play to potentially make the playoffs this season. With there being two “play-in” spots for the playoffs in both conferences this year, Washington could have a shot to make the 1-8 field in the playoffs if they finish 10th or higher in the Eastern Conference.

There is still a lot of work left to do for the Wizards if they are to potentially have a chance to make the playoffs, especially since they do not have much talent on their roster as it is. At times, it seems like only Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook and Rui Hachimura are contributing for this team and as a result, they are projected to miss the playoffs.

The Wizards acquired Russell Westbrook at the beginning of the season to pair him with Bradley Beal, but if they continue to struggle and eventually miss the playoffs this year, could they look to move the former league MVP? Washington is Westbrook’s third team in the last three seasons and while he is still a high-level player, there are definitely concerns about his ability to make those around him better.

Westbrook struggled to figure things out with his teammates in Houston last year and while he does tally high assist totals, he is a very ball dominant guard at times and can be selfish.

Sure, he had James Harden last year and has Bradley Beal this year, but none of the teams he has been on the last few seasons have been successful, which is why the Wizards could absolutely consider moving him and his massive contract. He will be someone to watch in NBA trade rumors as the deadline approaches.

With that said, let’s take a look at a hypothetical trade between the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards revolving around Russell Westbrook could look like.
