Charlotte Hornets
This season, one of the most surprising and thrilling teams to watch has been the Charlotte Hornets. With the key additions of Gordon Hayward and LaMelo Ball in the offseason, this Hornets franchise looks like they could be well on their way to making the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
They are an overall solid offensive and defensive basketball team, yet they seem like they are still one piece away in their frontcourt from being a true playoff threat. This is why the Hornets could still be very much in-play to go out and trade for LaMarcus Aldridge.
Cody Zeller has been a reliable center for the Hornets at times this year and second-year forward P.J. Washington is getting better each and every game he plays, but outside of these two, Charlotte does not have much frontcourt depth.
Overall, the Charlotte Hornets do not have much depth on their team, as they really only play with a rotation of 7-8 guys every single night. Adding the veteran Aldridge to their frontcourt not only gives them another reliable option to turn to for production offensively, but someone who is more than capable of knocking down shots from anywhere on the court.

Over the course of his career, LaMarcus Aldridge has always been known to be a great mid-range player who can pull-up from virtually anywhere on the court. With plenty of perimeter oriented threats and athletic scorers, the Hornets could really thrive from having a consistent, steady option like Aldridge to turn to in the frontcourt and in the low-post.
The only question with the Hornets is whether or not they would be willing to move around some contracts in order to bring in Aldridge’s $24M contract, especially since they are already contending for a playoff spot this year with the roster that they have.
