The Houston Rockets have been one of most active teams on the NBA trade market so far this season and have quite a few players who could be dealt. Among them are Victor Oladipo, Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker, and even John Wall. Oladipo is the most intriguing out of all of those options.

Oladipo was traded to the Rockets earlier this season by the Indiana Pacers. Just a couple of short seasons ago, he was an All-Star and was one of the top up-and-coming stars in the NBA. Unfortunately, a gruesome ruptured quad injury gave him a major setback.

Since the injury, Oladipo has not looked like his old self. He has found more of his explosiveness this season with the Rockets, but there are still a lot of issues that he will have to overcome.

Despite the concerns surrounding his healthy, Oladipo has still been a good player this year. He can score the ball and create for his teammates. While he may not be an “elite” defender, he can make plays in the passing lane.

All of that being said, it is seeming more and more likely that the Rockets could move Victor Oladipo ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

According to a report from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Oladipo is “absolutely available” and there is a chance that he could “go cheap.” That is very interesting, but not necessarily surprising, news to hear.

So far this season in the 16 games he has played with the Rockets, Oladipo has averaged 20.1 points per game to go along with 5.0 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. He has struggled to find his shooting touch, making just 38.4 percent of his shots and knocking down 30 percent of his three-point looks.

Obviously, there is still a lot of work for Victor Oladipo to do to get back to playing like his old self. He is also in the final year of his contract. Every team knows that he would like to find a way to end up with the Miami Heat.

With that being the case, the Rockets don’t have a ton of bargaining power. Any team that trades for Oladipo, unless it’s the Heat, know that they are probably getting a half-season rental. That won’t net Houston much value.

Expect to continue hearing rumors and reports about Oladipo in the coming days. The NBA trade deadline is drawing near and it certainly seems like the Rockets will move him.
