Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The Boston Celtics

This is a good trade for the Boston Celtics because they are addressing one of their needs. The Celtics need a veteran presence to run with the two’s when the starters are off the floor and George Hill would be able to be that guy, especially since he can play both guard positions.

The Celtics haven’t seen enough from Carsen Edwards and Romeo Langford to make them a part of their long term plan, but they have shown enough flashes to still make them a valuable trade asset.

The Celtics, if they get a guy like George Hill to come off the bench, could get an experienced veteran to help with the flow of the team. The two-way tandem that he could form alongside Marcus Smart would give just about any bench group real problems.

When a team is making a playoff run, they typically want to acquire veteran leadership to help in some form or fashion. The Celtics are very young, especially when it comes to their bench depth, and George Hill could help provide some leadership to the team.
