Why This Trade Would Benefit The Detroit Pistons
Coming into the season, we knew that the Detroit Pistons were going to be near the bottom of the league but we did not expect them to have just seven wins at the midway point. The front office has done a good job cleaning out the veteran names and now it is time to move onto the next step. This could be taking advantage of a player’s value for a return.
At the moment, Jerami Grant has exceptional value and it would be wise for Detroit to take it vantage. He assigned to a three-year deal and the Pistons are going to need much longer than that to bring the team back to relevance. Killian Hayes suffered an injury that has kept him out most of the year and that has halted his progress.
This was supposed to be a developmental year for the team but they can consider it a wash at this point. If they can get some more young prospects along with first-round draft capital, the deal is simple.

Jerami Grant would benefit from joining a contender while the Detroit Pistons would like to get a return while he is playing at this level. It will be interesting to see what route the front office takes in Detroit because they have plenty of options and it was going to take a lot of moves to rebuild.
