Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have yet to take that step towards the NBA Finals with this group. They came close a season ago but lost to the team they would be making the deal with. Kemba Walker is owed a ton of money and has not been a fit with the Celtics since coming to town.

Kemba Walker is a point guard that dominates the ball. Because of this, the Celtics could decide to move him to put a point guard that fits better with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Dragic is a point guard that can score the ball but also defer to the other stars.

Goran Dragic is used to playing with some big-name players and this is where he would benefit players like Tatum and Brown. This is a deal that would dump Kemba Walker’s salary and get them some players that are ready to contribute immediately.

The Celtics are a win-now team and one that has a chance to come out of the East. They could look to make a move to continue to compete right away. Boston tried moving Kemba Walker in the offseason due to knee issues and they can’t afford to have those flare up again come playoff time.
