Kemba Walker still has two years left on his contract after this one. This means the Heat would have control as they look to show that they are still interested in winning now. The Miami Heat have some young assets but would not have to give them up in exchange for Walker. 

Goran Dragic would have to lead the return for the Celtics. He would act as a replacement for Walker at point guard. Kelly Okynyk and Maurice Harkless would also be on their way to Boston, along with a first-round pick.

The Celtics were reportedly trying to move on from Walker in the offseason and it’s unclear if that’s changed after his recent improved play. His knee issues are a long-term concern, so a short-term impact may not matter all that much.
