The best trade Knicks could offer Minnesota for Karl-Anthony Towns

One of the best storylines of the first-half of the NBA season has been the success the Knicks have found this year with their young team and the job first-year head coach Tom Thibodeau has done with this roster. The Knicks are currently above .500 and currently hold the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference.

Yes, you heard that right, the New York Knickerbockers are currently a Top-4 team in the Eastern Conference! Defense has defined this team to this point in the year and they have been a successful team because of how good they are defensively.

The Knicks are currently giving up the least amount of points per game to their opponents (104 OPPG) and are one of the most efficient defensive teams in the league. Defense has been the “bread and butter” of the Knicks this year, but the emergence of Julius Randle as a first-time All-Star has also helped them be one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.

Randle in his second season in New York is currently averaging 23.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and is shooting 41.9% from three-point range. Not only is he one of the better frontcourt players in the entire league, but Julius Randle is one of the most versatile players in the league because of everything he does to positively impact this Knicks team.
