Miami Heat

If there is one thing we know about Pat Riley and the Miami Heat, it is that they are always looking to add high-level talents that can help them contend for a championship. After making the NBA Finals last year, the Miami Heat have been one of the most disappointing teams to this point in the year.

They turned things on prior to the All-Star break, winning 7 of their last 8 games, but they are still one of the worst rebounding teams in the league and get virtually no production from their frontcourt outside of Bam Adebayo. Quite frankly, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have carried this team to this point in the season, especially with all of the injuries and health protocols they have been hit with.

While they basically have the same team from last year’s Eastern Conference Championship roster, losing Jae Crowder has really hurt this team and it has shown through the first-half of the season. They do not have that dependable frontcourt option next to Adebayo anymore, which is the main reason why adding Marvin Bagley III would be beneficial for the Miami Heat.

Both Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson are high-level perimeter threats and with Goran Dragic missing an extended period of time this season, the Miami Heat have missed that third, reliable scoring option on their team and have tried to make up for this production by playing great defense and having their role players play at a higher level.

As of late, they have been very successful with this, which is why adding Marvin Bagley III, another dependable role player, could be huge for this team’s chances at making another deep playoff push. They need another reliable rebounder and someone who can be a threat in the low-post when Bam Adebayo is out of the game and Bagley can do just that.

If they are able to snag him for a future first-round pick and a role player off-the-bench, this trade would definitely be worth it for the Miami Heat, but they should not be prepared to give up a ton of value for Marvin Bagley III, especially since they are rumored to want to pursue other big names at the trade deadline and in free agency next season.
