Why This Trade Would Benefit The Sacramento Kings
The relationship between Buddy Hield and the Sacramento Kings was tarnished when he was benched a season ago in favor of Bogdan Bogdanovic. When Bogdanovic left in free agency, the Kings went back to Hield but he could still be one of the players on the move. This would continue their rebuild and point them in the right direction.
Hield was thought to be the backcourt mate of the future for De’Aaron Fox. This might not be the case. The Knicks would be able to offer the Kings draft capital and some young players looking for a change of scenery. Knox begins the deal.
Buddy Hield has been unable to get it going in New York and would not have as much pressure in Sacramento. Burks is a no-risk move because he is playing under a one-year deal while Payton has played some valuable minutes for the Knicks.
